Man of Steel, tasked with rebooting the Superman franchise, is one of the summer’s most anticipated films. Does it live up to the hype?

Superman has never been the most interesting superhero. Despite being arguably the most well-known superhuman in twenty first century pop culture, the perfect, all-American alien is somewhat hampered by the fact that he is, in essence, a god.
